#66 – Forward/Defence
Wyatt Owens stepped into adulthood facing a battle most people never imagine. At just 18 years old, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in December 2023. Instead of preparing for the next chapter of life — including his plans to join the Air Force — he suddenly found himself fighting for his health.
Wyatt chose one of the most aggressive treatment paths available, electing to receive over a year’s worth of chemotherapy condensed into just three months, fully aware of the extreme sickness and risks that came with it. He finished chemo in March and completed radiation in May, marking the end of all treatment that same month. His determination never wavered.
Two years later, in March 2026, Wyatt reached the milestone every cancer patient dreams of: remission. His journey is a testament to strength, perseverance, and the power of refusing to give up, even when life takes an unexpected turn.
Today, Wyatt skates in the DAWG Nation Survivor Game as a symbol of hope and resilience. He represents every young person whose dreams were put on pause — and every survivor who fought their way back to the life they were meant to live. His presence on the ice is a reminder that even the toughest battles can lead to the strongest comebacks.
