Liam Brown is a Central States hockey player for the Affton Americans, the same organization that his brother Colin had played for at the time of his death.  Liam was just 15 years old when he was on his way home from his hockey game when at the same time Colin his older brother was also on his way home from his CBC hockey game and was shot and killed by random gunfire on I55 in St. Louis. Our entire family had our world torn apart; Liam not only lost his brother but his best friend. While life will never be the same for him, he has continued to rise and excel at both academics and hockey, the game he and Colin both grew up playing and loving.

Liam with his parents have started their own movement in honor of Colin and it is called 72 Acts of Kindness, 72 the jersey number of Colin and Acts of Kindness because helping others was a huge part of who Colin was and who Liam continues to be. While Liam is “surviving” every day without his brother, he misses him and loves him dearly and hopes to be the change in this world by honoring his brother’s legacy.
