#21 – Goalie
Kodiak White steps onto the ice this year not just as a player, but as a fighter — and a current DAWG Nation recipient whose battle is still unfolding. He skates for one reason: to stand tall in the face of epilepsy.
Everything changed on May 22, 2024. While driving, Kodiak suffered a sudden seizure that caused him to black out for over an hour behind the wheel. That moment marked the beginning of a life‑altering journey. A hardworking, blue‑collar provider who prided himself on never missing a day of work suddenly found himself facing seizures that grew more frequent, more severe, and more dangerous.
One terrifying episode left him stopped in the middle of oncoming traffic — a clear sign that this was no longer something he could simply push through. His world shifted overnight, and every day since has been a test of strength, resilience, and courage.
Yet here he is.
Kodiak skates in the DAWG Nation Survivor Game to show that epilepsy may change your life, but it doesn’t get to take your spirit. He skates for awareness, for hope, and for everyone fighting a battle that can’t always be seen.
For Kodiak, this game is more than hockey. It’s a statement. It’s a stand. It’s proof that even in the hardest moments, he refuses to quit.
