#39 – Forward/Defence

Justin White takes the ice this year with a purpose far greater than the game itself — he skates for his person, Nicole, a devoted mother of two and a true fighter. In the summer of 2024, Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer, and she has been courageously battling through chemotherapy ever since.

Even in the midst of her toughest fight, Nicole continues to be the heart of their family. Her son, Kellen, has spent the last three seasons with the Southern Illinois IceHawks, and Justin has proudly represented the STL Blues Warriors — a team for disabled military veterans — for several years. Hockey has always been part of their family’s story, but now it carries a deeper meaning.

For Justin, stepping into the DAWG Nation Survivor Game is an act of love, strength, and unwavering support. He skates to honor Nicole’s courage, to stand with her in this battle, and to celebrate the community that rallies around families like theirs.

This isn’t just a game for him. It’s a tribute. It’s a promise. It’s a best friend skating for the woman who inspires him every single day.
