Josh Fields is a visually impaired athlete whose determination and love for the game have defined his hockey journey. Born with congenital glaucoma, Josh has undergone 32 eye surgeries to stabilize pressure and slow the progression of vision loss. Despite these challenges, he continues to compete with roughly 5% vision in his left eye.

Josh began playing blind hockey in 2017 as a founding member of the St. Louis Blues Blind Hockey Club. His commitment and skill quickly elevated him to the national stage, and in 2023 he was selected to join the U.S. National Blind Hockey Team. He has since represented Team USA in three international tournaments, earning a silver medal this past spring after defeating Team World in Canada.

Josh skates in honor of his grandmother, Bobbie Kincade, one of his biggest supporters, who recently passed away after her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He continues to compete not only for her, but to raise awareness for blind hockey and to support its path toward becoming a Paralympic‑sanctioned sport.
