About Phil

Phil recently received a diagnosis of GI Cancer, numerous nominations have come in for Phil to help with medical expenses, therapy, and other financial difficulties. DAWG Nation had approved a 3-to-1 match per dollar, which would be a significant support to Phil and his family during this challenging time.

Phil had intended to coach a Twin Bridges team this year, as his three children are involved in the organization. Patrick (10), Sophie (7), and Zachary (5) are all players for Twin Bridges.

Originally from Anaheim, California, where he was employed at the Ducks practice facility and later expanded his role to the largest facility at the time in Lakewood, California. In June 2018, he, his wife Carissa, and their three children relocated to the St. Louis metropolitan area to be closer to his wife’s family. Phil has become a valued member of the hockey community. During that time, he managed the Webster Groves Ice Arena before transitioning to oversee the new RP Lumber Center in 2021. He expresses, “I find great joy in being involved with the rink. There’s a sense of camaraderie among our staff and guests, and I truly appreciate that aspect of the hockey and skating community.

A Helping Paw

The hockey community is truly one of a kind. It’s not just about the game; it’s about friendships, family, and so much more. We met Phil at the 4th annual TBL & DAWG Nation 3v3 youth hockey tournament, and in solidarity with the Twin Bridges Lightning Youth Hockey Organization, we came together to raise $30,000 for Phil Zamora and his family during their time of need. While he may still face challenges ahead, the support of everyone is with him as he moves forward. A heartfelt thank you to all who donated and volunteered to make this possible.
