Event Details

Join us for the 6th annual Jonny O’s Pond Hockey Tournament, returning to its roots in Affton where it all began. As some of you may be aware, Jonny was paralyzed due to a freak accident in 2020. This event began in 2021 to support him during that period and has since evolved into an annual fundraiser dedicated to assisting others within our hockey community who are confronting life-altering challenges. The first tournament kicked off here for Jonny and was also held in 2022 and 2023, before moving to Steinberg Skating Rink for the past two years. This year’s event will feature two games played at once, no goalies, and classic Pond Hockey Puck Boxes for goals. Teams will compete in a round-robin format, with at least four games guaranteed. Beyond the on-ice fun, there will be plenty of off-ice entertainment, raffles, and other surprises, all in the spirit of DAWG Nation’s mission to give back.

Recipient

Kodiak White

Everything took a turn on May 22, 2024, when Kodiak had a seizure while driving, causing him to black out for over an hour behind the wheel. From that day on, his life changed drastically. A hardworking, blue-collar provider who hated missing work, he found his seizures becoming more frequent and severe. One frightening incident saw him stop in the middle of oncoming traffic during an episode, making it clear this was no longer something he could just power through.
