The DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation originated in Colorado following a series of unfortunate incidents within the locker room in 2011. Our humble beginnings involved collecting donations, (passing the hat) and it has since expanded significantly, providing over $6 million in assistance to members of our hockey community during difficult times.

Every year, we recognize the team that demonstrates the greatest commitment to Giving Back. The trophy and T-shirts for the most generous team are attached. Envelopes will be distributed on Friday evening along with your players’ souvenir bags. We will come to each team locker room individually to do distribute Pass the hat challenge envelopes before your first game.

Puck Frogs – 2025 Jonny O’s DAWG Nation Winter Classic Give Back Champions

Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. Each team has an individual link campaign for the “Pass the Hat.” Pass the Hat will coincide with the scorekeeper (volunteer) opportunity. Any players from the tournament who volunteers to score keep will have $20 per game credited to their “Pass the Hat” challenge campaign. Below is each team’s links for this. To donate to your team or score keep, you do not have to be a rostered player, so any friends or family of the teams who want to help may contribute as well.
