Supporting Mace at the Corn Dawg tournament
Sunday in Belleville, Illinois was unforgettable as we hosted our first-ever cornhole event. With a fantastic venue, perfect weather, generous sponsors, amazing volunteers, a sold-out field, and an emotional check presentation, the day was a huge success! The bag-tossing skills on display were incredible, but the real highlight was 10-year-old Mason Venegoni from the Meramec Sharks Hockey Club. Mason, a young goalie, recently endured a difficult surgery to remove a brain tumor, all while his dad is deployed overseas serving our country. Despite these challenges, this brave goaltender is doing great and well on his road to recovery. And here’s the “no coincidences” moment—former St. Louis Blue enforcer Reed Low, a longtime supporter of our cause, wore number 34 in his playing days. On Sunday, he surprised Mason with a signed Mike Liut goalie stick and promised to take him and his family to a Blues game in the Alumni Suite. Then he asked Mason how many stitches he had—Mason’s answer? “34,” of course!
